The Truth About Getting Jacked as a Dad...
I always thought I had "bad genetics."At high school graduation, I was 6'5" and 165 pounds.A walking stick figure. And I HATED being the skinny guy.I dreamed of looking jacked, but I was doing everything wrong.I looked for all the shortcuts.I jumped from fad diet to fad diet. Intermittent fasting, carb backloading, low carb, carnivore…you name it I tried it.I didn't track my workouts and wasn't consistent with my training either.I was always looking for the next best thing.I didn't have the discipline to put in the work. Then life kicked my ass.In 2017, I failed out of the fire academy and gained a ton of weight.
That failure lit a fire.I knew I had one more shot to make it back into the academy, and this time, the physical requirements wouldn't be my downfall. No more excuses. The next year changed everything. No more quick fixes. No more jumping between programs.I approached my diet + training with discipline, structure, and unwavering commitment.Over the next year, I took the methodical approach I needed as a firefighter and applied it to my fitness. No more random workouts. No more guessing at calories. I dialed in exactly what I needed, cycling through strategic cut and maintenance phases until I stripped away the fat while keeping the muscle I worked for. What started as a mission to pass the academy transformed into something deeper.Fitness wasn't just another box to check anymore – it became my daily reminder that I could conquer anything I committed to.This spring, a phone call from a friend pushed me to test everything I'd built. With three young kids, a full-time firefighting career, and a business to run, most people would call me crazy for even thinking about competing. But I hired a coach, applied everything I'd learned about efficiency, and stepped on stage.I won three out of four men's physique classes and took second in another. At 38 years old.
With a family. With a demanding career. With a working wife to support. Here’s my biggest takeaway:Getting and staying fit as a dad isn’t about genetics or "finding time."Those are excuses I used to make too. It's about having a system that works with your life, not against it.We all have the same 24 hours.I just figured out how to make them count. And now I want to help you do the same.

FAQs
Q: "How much time do I really need?"
A: 5-6 hours per week for training, 1-2 hours for meal prep. That's it.
Q: "What if I'm completely new to this?"
A: Perfect. You'll avoid the years of mistakes I made trying every fad diet and program.
Q: "Can I still eat with my family?"
A: Absolutely. Your plan will work around family meals, not the other way around.
